link: What can youth do about 1999-2014 being most uneconomic (job-destroying) time in Nations histories ...In 1984 after 10 years of research on Entrepreneurial Revolution and the coming of the of the internet's worldwide youth generation in The Economist, Norman Macrae published the 2024 Report. This mapped what to do so that the net generation could co-create 3 billion jobs- being most productive and collaborative . Why hasnt the following script happened yet? Firstly extremely anti-social media monopolies ; Secondly the West's worst ever time for anti-youth politicians and professions; Third a lack of urgency among old decision-makers and to date extreme under use of internet as smartest media ever to massively connect the empowerment of youth. This last crisis can be solved now if we converge on MOOCs. |
more coming soon
I will be spending next few days arranging archive notes by the 7 entrepreneurial revolution wonders and timedated to give situation context
if you have ever read something by The Economist's Unacknowledged Giant that you think millions of youth need to MOOC please tell us - our goal is to archive in at least one of the following formats:
maximum 9 minute audio - the main value multiplers of MOOC
maximum double-sided one-opage transcript - typically that corresponds to a maximum 9 minute speech
a slightly longer leaflet version including slides- but only where those slides directly help to explain the transcript

ER1 (see 40 year collaboration map of 7 Entrepreneurial Revolutionsin one) "20th C largest systems cant sustain net generation- start redesigning them " - The Economist 1972
80 YEAR DASH TO END POVERTY Networking technology can empower |
contrast with Norman's last report 2008: ..If banks in rich democracies had been truly competitive institutions, then at least one of them somewhere would have seized the main opportunity created by the computer. This main opportunity was to make ll eposit banking vastly cheaper than before . This cheapening would make such banking hugely more profitable. Further competition would search out ways to guide all of the world's savings into the most desirable forms of capital investment enriching all of mankind. Instead during 2008, in rich democracies soared into trillions of dollars. Fearful for their solvency these banks virtually stopped lending ,,hedge and insurance firms also crashed.. mankind is thus threatened with the longest depression...... |
36 years, later in Norman's last article, he wrote in 2008:
please prevent the 2010s being an endless decade of youth unemployment by understanding that among many tragic errors compounded by banking and government is this
WHAT TO DO - LEARN WHAT THE CAUSE WAS: Western welfare governments and banking CEOS were not pleased by this lowering of costs and the changes it would have required of banking staff so :
they ran their banks in high cost cartels
and merged everyday deposit banking with a very different sort of financing called merchant banking with huge bonuses for unbridled risk-taking.
What to do next
ER2 MOOC (9 minute training modules om) financial literacy for everyone
ER7 Restore banks with values - ie whose purpose is to sustain people's and communities productivity not to trap them in debt; Understand how cashless banking (generation 1 MPESA Kenya; generation 2 Bkash Bangladesh) becomes last chance to redesign 2 futures that matter most to sustainability of children ( vital reading on this Innovations MIT Issue 4 2011)

Nobel Laureate Dr M Yunus: We Create What We Want. We wanted to go to the moon, so we went there. We achieve what we want to achieve. We accept that poverty is part of human destiny. It’s not! We believe we can create a poverty-free world. We need to invent ways to change our perspective. We can reconfigure our world if we can reconfigure our mindset Social business will be a new kind of business, making a difference in the world. Human beings are a wonderful creation embodied with limitless human qualities and capabilities. Entrepreneurs are not one-dimensional human beings, dedicated to maximizing profit. They are multi-dimensional: political, emotional, social, spiritual, environmental. The desire to do great things for the world can be a powerful driving force Young people dream about creating a perfect world of their own. Social business will give them a challenge to make a difference by using their creative talent. Let us join hands to unleash our energy and creativity. Collectively, we can create a poverty-free world.” Source : nobelprize.org/.......... |

1972: Norman Macrae starts up Entrepreneurial Revolution debates in The Economist. Will we the peoples be in time to change 20th C largest system designs and make 2010s worldwide youth's most productive time? or will we go global in a way that ends sustainability of ever more villages/communities?
