case 1 - possibilities if you are a former PM of Ecuador and want to help teachers and youth

 

From your life contributions to Ecuador, I am confident that if you could somehow connect what is known practically amongst your choice from the personal networks of 8 people, you could probably go beyond your wildest dreams with what Ecuador peoples and education could do; equally if tania thinks that is an over-simplication delighted to be mentored by her (and sir fazle's practice)  - of course any general education routes to the future are an over-simplication because we can also interact with different practive groundings - health, energy etc ... if for an example Ecuador's differentiated future is about being a green epicentre maybe one should start up by challenging gunter pauli as to how many of his blue-green economy's 100 million jobs can be pioneered by Ecuador's youth

1 iqbal and  legatum links through MIT and www including berners lee, edward roberts, and mobile foundations like mo ibrahim's and financial inclusion ones like mastercard's  and negroponte founder of MIT media lab (though I realise there is issue between laptop and mobile and tablet, as well as does education or business come first in developing a nation not that they should be wholy separated if we lived in a world where families were fully valued as main economic growth expoenential) 

2 kazi (and craig barrett) and intel world ahead

 

3 BRAC's founder sir fazle abed who tania knows more about BRAC internal communications than anyone apart from perhaps his daughter - he built rural education at every level in bangladesh but also wants brac university to be somewhere between mit and swarthmore in empowering youth; in his last years he's desperate to make sure anything he knows is fully shared

 

(I realise 1-2-3 already multiply each others networks impacts in certain practice areas)

 

4 mrs begum who has always been the spirit of how 8 million grameen women committted their lives to their next generation; and being the only female founder of grameen literally had to do all the orginal work in forming womens circles and researching the 16 decision culture which grameen lives

 

5 a rather crusty 81 year old new zealander who actually implemented my father's and my craziest ideas since 1984 www.thelearningweb.net (and who 10 million chinese families wistfully folllow)

 

6 the gandhi family at www.cmseducation.org whose schooling in the indian city of lucknow has grown from 2 kids to 40000 a year; and who host monthly competitions with kids around the world; they also informally partner ex president (and india's chief scientist) kalam who challenged indian children to tear up any curriculum that wasnt sustainable or wasnt cross-cultural

 

7 open space facilitator harrison owen www.openspaceworld.com  - some wouldnt call him an educationalist but the practice I most wish we would empower children before teens is how to host a small circular meeting in a way that everyones views are integrated - that is a very small part of harrison methods which can also be used for 5000 teachers to meet for real and explain what problems they mutually want to solve- I know thats been done with health care in one district of britain but dont know that its has been done with 5000 teachers though the principles are the same

 

8 taddy blecher who founded s.africa's free university and believes that both children and teachers need to experience various empowerment methods; branson is just one of many people who temporarily partnered with taddy and now runs his own entrepreneur curricula in eg the carribean

 

its partly because the practice leverage of these people and their social networks is so different that I'm confident that between them they know somebody who could help answer pretty well any questions that teachers in Ecuador might ask

 

I have had conversations with these people over the years but if there are one or more whose approach interestd you it would be simplest 1 if you ask me if there is anything else I can explain on what i think they do, and then give me a short message in your own voice to email introduce you one to one so you can take it from there

 

Rosalia I would love to know how your work progresses but most of these people prefer to make rapid progerss 1:1 and I dont want to be in anyone's way. One question" have you come across whole planet foundation in Ecuador. I know they help with microcredit there. Their ceo john mackey needs to be sent a letter saying thank you for such wonderful microfinance support but would you join in empowering education experiments too. That's probably the miracle hot spot that mastercard foundation and iqbal enter stage left.
