history of new media shows that badwill powers often make use of new media before the people do (eg hitler probably wouldnyt have propagated if he hadnyt been fiorst to be able to use both radio and audio recorder

 

in other cases , like the bbc, the media starts as by and for the people but then gets censored by the government that has previpously lost its own was as for any by the people

 

in other cases commercial media finds its model has become ever too expensive (costs of ads have spiralled expoentalliy in all mass media) unless it can nag or senationalise or otherwise cosy up to others who are supposed to be constitutionally independent of its power
