.may 2013 : In Dhaka on my 10th visit to Dr Yunus, Iasked if the focus on moocyunus could be an interchapter movement in way that future capitalism has so far failed to mobilise in spite of his hosting events in 5 state college capitalsaimed at giving students a days voice in the entrepreneurial calendar ; april 2010 asked Fast Company's founder Alan Weber to master of ceremony first global social business summit so that chapterisation could emerge but such a collaboration process blocked by german rulers of sbs june 2013 asking whether branson b-team movement will chapterise; how to learn from its lead capital Johannesburg and any other elad capitals; how to include dc as a bteam capital. related ref: Mapping How to Build a Chapter of Future Capitalism in This Townwe'd love to hear from other chapter builders - but when you look at this town's story its quite a conflict resolution challenge- its years… |

for discussion on why most hubs fail to promote chapters needed for massive worldwide youth collaboration and job creation - see our note: good hubs guide
we don't understand how chapter movements can be sustained without agreeing on some of the facilitation rules of either www.openspaceworld.com or www.collaborationcafe.tv
we spent several years after 9/11 testing this hypothesis across Europe-wide virtual communities but eventually Brussels censored the citizens chapter movements as promoting too much local context and not enough of what Brussels like to rule over standardizing; it looked brifly as if Brussels had a change of heart at end of 2011 - see transcripts from eu social business conference at our pro-youth journalism web www.entrepreneurialunion.com
a co-founder of dc chapter of conscious capitalism pointed out that mackey's thoughts/actions as of 2009 are on dvd sale- topic passion and purpose- by coincidence a decade earlier I found myself editing a triple special issue on passion and purpose- everything that went wrong with 20th c media - for the journal of marketing management

Business quiz: If your company has to decide between doing what’s right and making a profit, which should it be? Answer: Both.
If that seems like a fantasy, then you should hear what Whole Foods Market CEO John Mackey has to say. Mackey owes his astounding success to “conscious business”—a revolutionary model that embraces both profitability and the higher good.
On Passion and Purpose, he reveals his vision of businesses fueled by the entrepreneurial spirit acting as a force for positive change, and invites you to take part in this emerging renaissance. Join this remarkable leader as he illuminates:
What companies are best equipped to survive economic hardship? John Mackey makes the case that today’s conscious businesses are poised to do more than weather the storms of the marketplace—they will create a new, sustainable form of capitalism for the future. Here is a call to action from one of today’s most inspiring business pioneers to add your own passion and purpose to the rising tide that is changing our world.

minutes of each of these events is normally available on request to those who want to learn with us
august 2013 saw first real meeting
from mid month weekly conference call phone started
during first month about 10 releated dc networks were contacted to make a survey of collaboration opportunities
my favorite view of Conscious Capitalism DC would be if it could form round parallel but collalborative chapters with their own quorum and diaries -hopefully some would prove to be winners other chapters or even whole foods ceo john mackey would want to learn from - at the same time I see the only advantage of being stuck in dc is what happens in dc spreads not only with in state but federally and to developing world - so if we ca plant any chapters we are proud of we can try an twin them everywhere - and open education is certainly a viable channel for doing that right now though I am interested in eg berners lee has any other open sourc ways of webbing that can blend tech and non tech but passionate people
chapters-so eg
5 could we of the Balston chapter invite people to meet approximateely monthly on open education
4 similarly if you and chris belchamber identify a quorum group i would like to join
3 and then there is the unmanagementent event team -sdietrack about 10 years ago having attended about 5 big open spaces I rehearsed how to do 2 out of 3 things of open space in one hour - what you have to forego is the parallel brainstorming - you still invite people who are passionately on focus across your network and you still end the hour of how will we continue to action network - but in the hour you invite one or 2 people who already have an idea ready for replication -anna has one just now (attached) -she was most impressive in my view single student entrepreneur at udc competition -so question is can we organise an hour event around hger either to warm up some momentum for udc yera or if it doesnt fit through one of our other ccdc groups- Bronx tv covered how unmanagement one hours are hosted here I would love to go back to them with a roundtable on open education!
2 and the competition linking youth to saying what they want from a CCDC chapter as well as celebrating past youth who are scaling massive collaborations like anna's future for native american jobs networking
1 equally i can see that christopher king wants a bcorps chapters and what few relationships in that world I have I will pass over and if they have any action minutes I would like to read them - I an interested in world's most responsible organisations but I want to start with changing some of the biggest ones because what have we left if all the biggest ones are the most irresponsible - the purposeful vision of big companies (or most open networks) and how they deal with innovation is my professional side but it doesnt typically fit any professional group out there in spite of the books I have authored trying to connect media and other professions
0 dc needs a digital open tech wizards chapter - it would be best if udc (sylvia with new president?)? proposed this to the mayor though on another timeline I have to get back to brookings and digital initiative in mayors office and federal community broadband experimenters on how to link them together
chris
i will develop a blog http://consciouscapitalismdc.blogspot.com trying to branch around these chapters and any other I comprehend - if you connected with a ccdc person whose idea I havent got a chapter for please tell me - but this is only one of about 100 collaboration agendas I am informally noting so be patient with its lack of tidiness or join in co-editing it
