Q&A about ER -has popularity of 1976's Entrepreneurial Revolution been a good thing? Probably not in the sense that 99% of American academics (and vested interest PR men) have change the livelihoods meaning of E from that which father argued for in The Economist; 1976 was the 25th year that father had been applying Von Neumann's scoop (they met Princeton 1951) -what good will peoples unite with 100 times more tech per decade? good to both dad and von neumann meant opposite of bads such as nuclear and world war that their lives had been dominated by; practical goods in the 1950s came from american borlaug who helped the east produce 10 times more food locally and Deming who helped Japanese engineers design contnious improvement and small entrepreneur supply chains across borders -through my father's life time the grand prize for entrepreneurial revolution goes to fazle Abed the most connected person with a billion asian womens empowerment - probably the greatest human development miracle our species will ever cooperate around

Consider Japan (Asia Rising models designed in the 1950s reported from 1962) offers one of the first forms of win-win world trade model - on retinement the Japan Emperor's award to dad noted for helping make trade more positive than we would have otherwise actualised ;.Kennedy accepted Asia Rising model of goods- added western youth's most exciting 20th C goal declaring moon short decade (whose actual benefit was satellite letecoms as early as 1964, and was in the process of mediating triad interdependence of us asia and euro when he was assassinated; some would say he was rushing too fast in directions opposite to that which Texas has always required of us democracy (arms, carbon, and chauvinism/racism all of which Texas justifies as the state that annexed the west coast from Mexico to US)  there is no evidence I can find that a US president since kennedy has wholly applied Neumann's scoop; ER argued for engieeers and distributing knowhow to community building and ending poverty as a future not big media and big politics; interestingly even as us politics from nixon ended investing in youth, silicon valley around intel enjoyed a 1970s of garage startups and purposeful venture capitalism - see dad's 1982 survey why not silicon valleys everywhere; from 1984 after 36 years in The Economist's anonymous system dad and I co-authored 10 years of 2025report on what if we designed digital cooperation and education into webs form 1990 - this is not what happened in the west even as father wrote up the biography of von neumann -see where this crisis has brought us at 2022 in this series of linkedin articles;

Meanweile this ning reproduces as many of dads east-west and other Economist surveys as we can ; and the last edition of 2025report.com and EconomistDiary.com continues to ask will the next 8 yeras return worldwide trade designs to sustain oir extinguish our childrens futures

WHY INTEL THIS NOW? Last month, lower Broadway friends helped New York and Hong Kong creatives/artists host the 70th annual Entrepreneurial Revolution salon since my father Norman Macrae met Von Neumann in Princeton in 1952. Dad was Keynesian futures sub-editor at The Economist. He's served as teenage navigator allied bomber command Burma; married Sir Kenneth Kemp's daughter -grandad chief justice in Bombay was in dialogues with Gandhi for 20 years before writing up legalese of India's Independence.

My dad's ideas of entrepreneurial revolution were always off any known (Western) charts although he and JFK agreed in 1962 that Japan had found models for all Asia Rising. Marina Von Neumann would like to see AI Hall of Fame research piloted if this can help. ER explores the UN purpose that humans want to design a world in which each next child born has a fair chance at life and livelihood. This must ne out of any community. Logically it based on two frames that were top of mind when my gather met bon neumann at princeton 1951 while seconded to New York for a year by The Economist of London
Keynes had answered the question who rules what futures are possible- increasing the handful of academic economists and media barons which legislators turn into laws.
Neumann told my father of the biggest journalistic scoop og modern tiems- ask biggest decision makers what will they do with 100 times more tech per decade that's  a million times moore considering intergenerational responsibilities over 30 years (30 years being what split todays 8 billion into younger and elder)
Overall ER clarifies need to balance big get bigger gov and corporate by small enterprise networks. Over the 10 years 1976-1986- The Economist mediated debates integrating local to global the Society's core ESG purposes -
societal purposes of goal fodo and land for families, 3 health & safety, 4 livelihood education changing ahead of 100 times  more etch

Nature is always playing a more chaotic game as covid illustrates (all the covid virus in the world being less than one cola cola can in volume). Currently all extinction evil of the world seems to be located in a handful of mad men led by Putin. Be very careful whom you tar with that brush. For example usa has 2 main borders to deal with and does a rotten job at its southern border China has about 20 borders to deal with. Xi Jinping is not putin - only the evil of fake macroeconomic whites could spiral such racism. And now in the 21st C elders however subconsciously (and politically machinated) have given up valuing their next generation - that's the message when Kerry said in 2021 that Glasgow was humanity's last best chance...

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN YOUNGER HALF OF THE WORLD'S FUTURE? Some folk talk about whether the elder half of the world wants children to be the first sustainability or extinction Generation. That's the choice. Media, educators, public servants are lying if they say any other future is possible.

Whilst simplifying terminology let's look at the acronym ESG that has become popular with financial whizs. Here is a map I learnt from 40 years of work in Asia which started accidentally when Unilever and MIT first asked me to survey what women in Indoinedsia wanted from skin care. Actually we can map 3 main life developing markets of Society (50 year learning curve of billion poorest asian womens tabulated is the greatest economic miracle development experts have ever been privileged to map)

Food & Family Home:

Asia's Village Agri priorities:

  2.1   2.2   2.3

 2.4  2.5  2,6

3.1 3,2  3.3

 3.4   3.5   3.6

in the post-war

era of 100 times

"moore" tech per decade

4.1  4.2  4.3

 4.4  4.5 4.6

The 5 decades of 1980s to 2020s (innovation environment of 100 times more tech) were anticiapted as:
80s computers go personal
90s the world is webs
2000s mobile devices become most popular way to app digital world and to end borders between communicating people
2010s big date clouds will make question of how to blend human and artificial intel vita
2020s real time autonomous systems will increasing take over from gob of deep changing datasets (deviced from every gps and spatial coordinate) by men
On 1984 The Economists started debating 5 years of prep for the fall of the Berlin Wall. Could the world humanly commonise sense of what hadspun from the root causes of the 2 worlds wars- The G8.5 nations consisted of the unbalanced drives of
JU the islands of Japan and Uk
FIG the 3 naturally cramped nations of France Italy Germany
CURE  which consisted oif 2 continental roofs Canada and Russia and 2 temperate northern continents USA and EU
How to E & G - peace, change to green energy, integration of digital and physical trading infrastructure, financing community sustainability were all clarified so that millennials as the younger half of the 21st C world were first sustainability gen instead of first extinction gen. Instead of goal 17 excluding youth, women and poorest in bigger bigger PPP, deep data metaverse and metavilalge humanised Artificial Intel so that every family enjoyed the chance to blossom
The deadlines which the Un has set as 2030 for the sdgs were set in 1984 in 2025report.com. Whatever human wrongs you see spiraling in the 2020s ultimately go back to failures designed into exponential multiplying systems committed by white macroeconomists. Whites represent less than 20% of the world's population. Fortunately by 1977 Asian two third oif the world (starting with 1960s progress of japan korea s taiwan hk singapore) mapped how sustainability could come to all Asian families and indeed peoples with every skin shade and gender.
Nature as adam smith's 1758 ethical mapping explored is bottom up and open. Man risks extinction the more he engineers borders that externalise professional responsibility instead of gearing human natural and artificial the way Einstein advised. Namely all of man's science is as approximate as the micro level being simulated by man's metrics.
Out 1984 book argued education transformation needed to be integral to sustainability - bravo guterres unga edu summit 2022. And bravo 2023 unga summit futures of common senses we need next generation to mediate even while the elder half of the world has always been at risk of fiddling while tome burns. Can we lap ahead of such a scary misvaluation of diverse cultures and natural forces? Can the metaverse (ie media to 2030 suddenly humanise our goals and actions as united earthlings)

Environment & Governance depend on what your life was like when the UN was founded in 1945. Nearly two thirds of the world are Asian. Their life in 1945 was very poor- the japanese had been nuked- and almost every other nation had been colonised (that includes the north east coast of asia after China had given up with world trade when the Brits said that the far east would need to accept opium as a currency because britain was running short on gold.

Here is the E & G that successful Asians have used since 1950s first in Japan soon Kora South Taiwan, HK Singapore, then Coastal China ..

Community Distributed Finance Collab Platforms for commitees of 100000 lives matter -some call this sdg6 equality but note serving 100000 people's last mile care of each other is not something western media or lawyers have worked out in many places As survey of Entrepreneurial Revolution anticiapted 21st youth dont need bog get bigger PP greenwashing each other - we need PYP, POP, PWP -preferential priority of tech and social chnage to transparently value youth women ,poor who history left out and we have the 3 natiral chnaged og 8 billion population - go f green, invest in infrsastructure, invest in peace without borders (eg cut 109% on foreign arms spends every year- let's hope somehow this can be achieved without nuclear or climate wars in spite of 33 tears of EU and USA doing the opposite to peparing caringluy in 1984 for the 1989 fall of berlin wall
Exponential governance as Adam Smith so clearly anticipated requires a transparency of everyone knowing price and qualiity not 90 day smash and grab accounting- back in 1950s before television became too invasive in western lifestyles experienced marketers reported SWOTS where the exponential rising Opportunity and the care needed so that compound Threats were fully updated/minimised by the board- of course in those days a board could not globally stream microsofts killer app so multinational companies were led as much as nationally caring systems not one global spreadsheeted men. Neumann had a lot to say about careless numbers men if you want to read the person who linkedin 100 times more tech per decade. You certainly should not work in finacnial media or nightly news unless you can pass neumann's driver's test.

.. Until 1962 presidents like Kenendy applauded loudly that Asia could Rise through next generations as rural keynsiaism ended starvation (mainly thanks to asians becoming alumni of the American Borlaug) and far eastern coastal cities learnt to continuously improve engineering with deming until undergrounds were safe, bullet trains were fast, containerisation was 10 times more economic (actually making it lower cost for small enterprise supply chains to trade across ports than inside the continent. In one sense a problem ; in another sense good news that tech can be applied round multi-win trade across nations. After all - knowhow multiplie value in application unlike consuming up things- perhaps the 21st C world could go beyond the scarcities of thing trade and worldwide love of each others children could web the world.

if women could design one brand of their own. Actually Unilever had an idea but their ad agency hated it - muslim wonen wanted a beauty brand that empowered the - the opposite of brands that advertise that a women is inadequate unless she attracts men. fortunately there are many text books (eg read Ernest Dichter) by 1982 western ad agencies mainly played on fear or loneliness of people who did not pay for the most expensive brands.

Surviving thanks to the Americas dad was in Keynes last class where he was taught that only a handful of system designers control what futures are possible. EconomistScotland.com AbedMooc.com

To help mediate such, question every world event with optimistic rationalism, my father's 2000 articles at The Economist interpret all sorts of future spins. After his 15th year he was permitted one signed survey a year. In the mid 1950s he had met John Von Neumann whom he become biographer to , and was the only journalist at Messina's's birth of EU. While dad's surveys can be catalogued/ "curricula-sorted" in different ways- we look at his future of places surveys especially Asia Rising starting with Japan 1962, and his entrepreneurial revolution surveys- would 40 year future stories compound sustainability or extinction? Entrepreneurial Revolution -would endgame of one 40-year generations of applying Industrial Revolution 3,4 lead to sustainability of extinction

1972's Next 40 Years ;1976's Coming Entrepreneurial Revolution; 12 week leaders debate 1982's We're All Intrapreneurial Now

The Economist had been founded in 1843 by London Scot James Wilson. Could Queen Victoria please chnage empire fro slavemaking to commonwealth? Some say Victoria liked the challenge James set her, others that she gave him a poison pill assignment. Thus James arrived in Calcutta 1860 with the Queens permission to charter a bank by and for Indian people. Within 9 months he died of diarrhea. 75 years later Calcutta was where the Young Fazle Abed grew up - his family accounted for some of the biggest traders. Only to be partitioned back at age 11 to his family's home region in the far north east of what had been British Raj India but was now to be ruled by Pakistan for 25 years. Ag

un top 100 ai Ten solutions were deemed “outstanding” by the IRCAI Scientific Program
Committees and the IRCAI Scientific Journal Editorial Board among the Global Top 100
project submissions based on their centrality of AI, the potential impact on relevant
SDG(s), demonstration of potential in completed work (either proof of concept or
completed research paper), and ethical design. We briefly introduce these outstanding
projects.
Rewire (SDG5, 9, 16)
Online platforms have repeatedly committed themselves
to addressing online hate speech and harassment. Yet,
hateful comments – often aimed at specific identity
groups – are still widely found on various platforms. Rewire
aims to wipe out this toxic content from the online world
by developing an NLP-based AI tool that automatically
detects if the given content qualifies as hate. By enabling
online platforms to run responsibly and striving to tackle
(children) abuse, Rewire’s product addresses both SDG9
(Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and SDG target
16.2 (‘End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of
violence against and torture of children). Moreover, given
that women are disproportionately exposed to online
abuse (The EIU, 2021), the project also supports SDG5.
ASMSpotter (SDG12, 15)
ASMSpotter is a tool that aims to “help local authorities
effectively and continuously monitor artisanal and smallscale gold mining (ASGM) in large geographic regions
by automating the detection of ASGM sites and applying
Machine Learning and Computer Vision algorithms
to satellite imagery.” The software was proposed as a
basis to regulate the gold mining sector and plan ASGM
formalization activities. In this way, the developers aim
to enable local people to “have a share in the prosperity
generated by artisanal gold mining and to minimize
negative impacts on environment, health, and working
conditions” (SDG12 + SDG15).

PART
Nasa Harvest (SDG1, 2, 10, 13, 15, 17)
NASA Harvest aims to advance the awareness and use of
satellite-based Earth observations (EO) to guide decisions
that support food security, stable markets, economic
progress, and sustainable, resilient crop production.
NASA Harvest unites agricultural stakeholders and EO
experts from public and private sectors, empowering the
integration of Earth data for key agricultural decisions.
Harvest is a neutral convener that is uniquely able to
foster mutually beneficial partnerships between diverse
actors in agriculture. Their multidisciplinary Consortium
includes researchers, farmers, agribusiness, economists,
aid organizations, technology developers, and decisionmakers – all working together to turn EO into actionable
information for food security and production.
FAIR Forward – Artificial
Intelligence for All (SDG12, 15)
Aiming for a “more open, inclusive and sustainable AI
on an international level”, the initiative FAIR Forward has
developed multiple pilot applications “improving the lives
of millions”. By making the datasets (that are used to train
the algorithms) openly available, the initiative actively
encourages local innovators to take up the data, improve
it and localize it. Its strategy also includes working with
geospatial datasets, ground truth data, and other open
data sources to build AI applications aimed at tackling
climate change – as well as joint efforts with policymakers
in the development of frameworks for “value-based AI”.
Having launched a whole variety of pilot applications, the
initiative addresses a wide range of SDGs, including SDG3,
SDG5, SDG7, SDG9, SDG10, SDG13, and SDG17.
Logically Intelligence (SDG16)
Logically’s fact-checking team advises governments
on how to combat harmful online misinformation and
deliberate disinformation by leveraging its state-ofthe-art intelligence platform. The AI-based platform
(Logically Intelligence) detects, analyzes and classifies
such information – and hosts a series of countermeasures
to tackle problematic content, including priority flags,
takedown notices and deep-dive investigative reports.
By improving civil society discourse and protecting
democratic debate, the UN Sustainable Development
Goals impacted by this solution is SDG16 (“Peace, Justice
and Strong Institutions”).

NatureAlpha Biodiversity &
nature metrics platform
(SDG6, 13, 14, 15, 17)
As losses in biodiversity put entire supply chains and the
subsistence of food or health systems at risk, a rising number
of investors and financial institutions are now striving
to invest in a future with a lower nature-related financial
risk. Yet, data on companies’ relationship with nature is
often intransparent – or simply unavailable. NatureAlpha is
striving to fill this gap by “providing science-based, AI and
machine learning-powered biodiversity analytics via API
or platform to global financial institutions”. By fostering
investments in biodiversity, NatureAlpha addresses a
whole range of SDGs, including SDG6 (Clean Water and
Sanitation), SDG13 (Climate Action), SDG14 (Life Below
Water), SDG15 (Life on Land) & SDG17 (Partnerships to
achieve the Goal).
An AI-powered classification email
system to help the Italian Public
Administration to better serve citizens
(SDG8, 9)
Every year, a ton of emails are being sent to the INPS, the
Social Security Administration of the Republic of Italy.
To improve the efficiency of the work within the INPS
agency ecosystem, INPS and Accenture developed an
AI-based solution with the aim of improving the current
manual process of classifying emails sent by citizens
and dispatching them to the appropriate office. Thus, by
decreasing the burden of public sector employees and
improving the quality of services to citizens, the project
addresses both SDG8 (Decent Work and Economic
Growth) & SDG9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
SkillLab (SDG1, 4, 8, 10)
SkillLab aims to guide the widest possible audience
applying for a job or a degree. Its AI-based solution
empowers people by capturing their skills, finding
suitable educational qualifications and jobs, and helping
them generate customized vocational training. SkillLab
aims to make career guidance accessible, especially to
marginalized populations, offering them a “pathway to
employment based on a skill-recognition system that is
granular, technology-enabled and data-driven.” Regarding
the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the project aims
to contribute to SDG1, SDG4, SDG8 and SDG10.

Novel Application of Advanced
Manufacturing Approaches to
High Quality Protein (SDG2, 3, 9, 12, 13, 17)
Aspire Food Group is currently constructing the world’s
largest, fully automated cricket production and processing
facility (in London (ON), Canada). With the use of artificial
intelligence developed by DarwinAI, Aspire will be able
to optimize yield and provide real-time insights into
conditions and plant operations. The production of this
quality protein at scale using AI addresses several of the
UN Sustainable Development Goals while accelerating
the world’s transition to sustainable ingredients and
materials through insect technology. The UN Sustainable
Development Goals impacted by this solution are as
follows: SDG2, SDG3, SDG9, SDG12, SDG13 & SDG17.
MedCheX: An e-Alert system for
automatically detecting pneumonia
from chest X-rays (SDG3, 10)
While hospitals in many parts of the world are repeatedly
strained with the influx of COVID-19 patients, a team
from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan
developed MedCheX, “one of the most effective, fast,
and cheap clinical screening tools” to diagnose the
coronavirus disease: By designing a Convolutional Neural
Network (CNN)-based model to assist frontline doctors in
the identification of pulmonary infiltrates on chest X-rays,
the system automatically detects high-risk patients with
pneumonia (and/or COVID-19) and alerts doctors with
a visual representation of the underlying symptoms.
The developers of MedCheX emphasize that “amid this
pandemic, every individual and country should be treated
equally”. Thus, aiming to reduce global inequalities in
access to health services, this project addresses both
SDG3 (Good Health and Well-Being) & SDG10 (Reduced
Inequalities).

hello henry - a quick response- i am sure some of what i have put in italics is nonsense but problem is I dont know which bits!
goodness there is a lot - also different people use different jargon so while I think I know what the crises are in things like blockchain I dont know that I use the same language as eg rabkin; if some of these one liners are worth longer references please say- do you think any of the lass of damtp 1973 are around and thinking about this stuff - or are the last 2?! I saw corpus was inviting a summer reunion but I dont think i have budget to attend!
by the way your newer mail mentions discord; i get completely lost in it; it seems to be where varios cryptocurrency and metaverse designers share ideas but I havent found a subnetwork I trust and I dont personally find its simplle to use the way email is- I just dont have time to be in discord unless i can find someone who is expert in a hi trust part of it; even last night on us news discord was mentioned as one of tools gate is spread in ; just as it may on positive side connect some extremely innovative designers

Chris,

I have compared the e-mail that you received on May 14 from Stuart Rabkin with your reply of May 15.

I like your reply. I think that your reply is exactly right.

I am inclined also to write to Stuart and Zack, although my case is different as, if I write to them, they will not know how who I am and they will know how I know about them and they would not invite me to do anything even if they knew that I exist.

Stuart Rabkin is an internet personality, as can be seen from a Google search for his name.  One of the search results contains "Stuart Rabkin ... with 20+ years of delivering growth and margin improvement to F500 companies.", which looks good.  He has a company called Boost.
I dont know what boost is
I think I have come across currnt - it seems to send out virtual brainstorms -its says would you like to join this high level creative project - buy who controls what the team members really are is beyond me - I havent devoted any real time to a current project but note like this latest one topics that seem important. To make progress I assume someone has to get known to Rabkin which I am not and dont currently have time for even if i could keep up with his tech views (
He is named as Managing Director in a domain called currnt, and currnt appears after his name in his e-mail to you.
I think that Web3.0 is trying for decentralized structures, in the sense of no control by governments and, in particular, no control by USA government.
I dont know what web 3.0 is. Back ijn 1984 my father and my book 2025 report debated exponential deadlines of the coming of berners lee web on assumption this was tranaparent, open , educational; in west this drowned by late 1990s in amazon and fake social media ultiamtely facebook -most of my dads best annual surveys at teh econopmist 1962-1990 can be download maps (maths scaling) servant leadership of billion poorest village ... where I

also anlyae which papers germany still reads- the deepest community collaborations applied by the poorest si8nce 1970 are at welcome economistdiary.com abedmooc.com,catholicuni.com  -parts of stanford and MIT have access to this but frankly less than 1% ofr wizards in either of these places which were from 1960 the twin hubs for all non neumann alumni

Perhpas its my age but I stick to last chance being 2020s transformation - this has various names - under Guterres this is called UN 2.0 or digitalisation ol all the 1945 multilaterals - systems like the UN may have been fine with 1045 communications tools but they are maddening yet pivotal to species now https://www.thoughtco.com/what-is-multilateralism-3310371

Japan which for various reasons my family since 1960 has trusted most in its 2019 G20 introduced 2 transformational terms - society 5.0 - the sustainable relationship of nations if world economic forums industrial revolution 4 went well; since my dad met von neumann in 1951 and was briefed on asking leaders what they would do with 100 times more tech every decade 50s to 2020s - I call this 5G to -2G )   -1G being being the imagination 1955-65 of the moon race  0.5G being what could be imagiged between 1975 and 1984 when dad and I wrote 2025 report; 1.5G being design consequences of the web years 1985-1994;; 2.5g 1995-2004 ; 3.5G being designs of smart ,mobiles and clouds clouds 2005-2015 ; this decvade mnow is pivotal because we are designing how deep the data is of automomous systems that have too much rea-time data streaming in for op system by human governance; arguably the metaverse is today what imagiinng the web was in 1990 because it becomes the main channel of convergence of all tech since 1950. how much of your granndchildren or teachers time would you like spent in zuckenberger alumni world - how much in huterres; overall how much of braintime will be spent virtual - how much real service in communities? thats the channel issue the metaverse seems to be the dominant key to door of

Over the next 18 months guterres who is in years 7 and 8 of 10 of leading Un completes UN2.0 - I am issuing foirst deck of slides on that later this week - say if relevant
My intuition is that this objective is fatally flawed, because there are people who are not altruistic and there are people who try to make money by inappropriate methods.  You quote correctly the example of cryptocurrency.  I have no idea whether cryptocurrency will turn out to be valuable in the long term.  But my perspective on cryptocurrency is that the fact that there is no institution guaranteeing that it will work implies that it will not work, and the fact that the price has investor support does not reflect any reality, because it is a feature of human psychology that people like to trust and especially they like to trust if there is a possibility of one's investment going up in value.
Back in 1972 my father pointed out why paper currencies printed ny government are falwed - eg they requirle next gen to bail ou old gens - and they assume zero sum - whereas life saving knowhow multiplies in colaborative use- the origina blockchain papers satoshi 2008 sounded like digital resolution to subprime crisis; instead the big cryptos today often used  to money launder- one question is why did UN not issue coin round financing sdgs- is it too late to do so. I am not even confident rabkin is in top 100 people who understand crypto and human sustainability- my view is he keeps issung brainstorming challenges -thats both the worldwide scope and the limitaion of him

I am reminded of the Madoff matter, which ended up being a Ponzi scheme, about which I read a book, because in that case it was difficult for investors to know that their investment was going to lose money but the basis of his success was that some investors are prepared to trust others when money is involved.  I see nothing to prevent a cryptocurrency losing all its value
One of the problems is every system designed by the EU has become a ponzi scheme -wherever todays under 30s are at risk of being the extinction generation it is western Dc-EU ponzi schemes that are the deep data problem - in my opinion
The data mining aspect and the limitation on the number of units of a cryptocurrency are I think irrelevant in a more complete analysis.
various cryptos have just collapsed because people did not understand that mining costs could become more expensive than the thinh being bought if everyone needed the miners to exchange at same time
The doubts that I mention above are also applicable to decentralized autonomous organizations.  I do not see a problem if institutions are run by altruistic persons.  I do not see a problem if they are run in a transparent fashion by persons or companies who would like to make money.

to adam smithians (my home network) transparency is always the chalelnge - but eg none of financial professions has been transparent since 1990- we are missing goodwill audit of exponentials; if the only audit of big orgs is how much money did you take out each quarter that is the least sustainable maths in the world
I am now a user of Thunderbird e-mail, which I think is in this category.  I used to use Microsoft Outlook as my e-mail manager, but I changed to Thunderbird once I saw that Gmail intends to stop collaborating with older versions of Outlook.
I dont know thu8nderbord. I have kept same yahoo address for over 20 years for continuity of communication. I have but don regularly remember to look at gmail. I may need to re-edit everything I have written in italics; i have 2 sorts of problem - I am not at the forefront of tech wizardry; even when I* think I have just about understood the latest policy vocab relevant to sdgs i find 20 different academics or wizards have created subterminologi8es and I dont have the capacity to translate one to another; oddly artificial intel is very good at key vocabulary translations!!

Best wishes.

Henry.

Hello stuart and zack
I work with mainly older people (eg von neumanns daughter) whose networks are putting a lot of time and in some cases money into uniting a version of the metaverse (or the main channel beyond 1990s www) curating solutions the younger half of world needs to spread across communities to be sustainable. Often they have different vocabularies eg DAO takes quite a lot of explaining, and as for the current cryptocoin nightmare I am not confident anyone fully knows who to trust to what over longer periods of time than the money men judge us all by, and where politicians sometimes change the whole rules of the game vicariously. WE need stable cooperation maps not politicians sponsored by the gods of vested interests. I hope thats what DA gravitates around
i realise much of what you do is virtual/decentralised- but do you also have chapter leaders/connectors in either washington dc or new york - the 2 main places my friends and I are hubbing through- and actively leaping up in as first real meetings in more than 2 years take place again
Specifically There are many parts of the digitalisation of the United Nation and Guterres (his specific design of un since 2017 which has been advised by expert panels) and which excites me wherever it attempts to get the younger half of the world to design the education they need-
before putin and in addition to climate this was timetabled to be the main event at un general assemble sept 2022 ny
if you have any un connecting chapters how do I search those out and are you applying any bot curators  - i am also a contented user of lunchclub if parts of your networks join in there
I am just an elderly scottish mathematician who would like the world to get back to sustainability orbits; I dont believe in computational algorithms which havent had the depth of their data manually played through. If you know any old style maths guys please ask them to email me.

for  crypto currency novice like me this coindesh newsletter summary very useful----

I found this crypto summary useful for me but I expect its basic for jeanne... John are you halfway in between my novice status and jeanne's wizard.? .“The most important thing about crypto is permissionless innovation,” he said. “That’s the idea that you do not need to get a license or a business plan approved. You can just deploy a contract on-chain and it starts getting users.”

See also: Dragonfly's Haseeb Qureshi Is Still Optimistic in the Crypto Bear Market

And so, Qureshi says, even if crypto has problems it might prove its utility by allowing anyone to innovate.

At Consensus 2022 in Austin, Texas, CoinDesk asked Qureshi to explain crypto’s growing pains, and how he thinks about its longstanding issues. Here’s what he said:

Privacy

When you think about privacy, everything you do in [decentralized finance] is viewable. We've gotten used to that in crypto, but that's not the way of the future. There will be some trade-off that we can make that is going to be similar to the kind of privacy we expect in the real world that would still give us the auditability that we care about and that makes DeFi, DeFi.

Interoperability

Right now, you're extremely aware of what chain you're on. You know if you’re on Solana, or Avalanche or Ethereum. At some point in the future, almost without a doubt, you will have digital assets and you will interact with applications – and that will be your relationship with [the blockchain].

On the internet you don't interact with this service or that service. You don't interact with Cloudflare, and you certainly don't give a s**t about TCP/IP. Your allegiance is to your application. So in the future, if you want to do yield aggregation, instead of just looking at Yearn you’ll look at what's the best yield anywhere in crypto. It will just be like calling out to another server on the internet.

Scalability
The fastest blockchains do less than, like, 1,000 TPS [transactions per second] each. You can argue about the margin there, but the bottom line is that none of them do that much throughput today. And for us to really get to world scale, all blockchains need to be much faster, much more scalable and have a much higher throughput. That applies to roll-ups and the like, too.

You want to get to not just tens of millions of users but hundreds of millions of users. Further, we talk a lot about users but we don't talk much about access patterns. You want access patterns that look anything like what people do in Web 2, you need much, much, much more scalability.

You could argue that bitcoin is the most used cryptocurrency because it has the most holders. I don't know the exact numbers, but something like 50% of Americans own crypto. I’d guess more than half [of those] only own bitcoin. And maybe there's one transaction those people, who likely bought BTC on an exchange, actually settle on chain, if that, per year. If that's the case, then the access pattern of someone using bitcoin is that one transaction.

But what's the access patterns of someone using the internet? I don’t know how many Google searches I make per day. So a Web 3 user is gonna result in many transactions per day.

Identity

The issue here is having an online identity that can be relied upon. Let's say I want to offer you credit – credit is about your identity, about who you are but also about my recourse. I can only offer you credit if I know that I have a path towards getting it back. If I don’t know who you are and you run away, I'm underwater immediately. There's no recourse.

Related here is bankruptcy. That’s a punishment that survives you and our relationship if you default on the debt. Bankruptcy is one of the most important innovations that we have made in capital markets. It’s very underappreciated in crypto. It’s the way you protect your remaining assets if you cannot pay back all your creditors and how credits can punish you into the future. You cannot do credit without the concept of bankruptcy. But in order to have that you need Identity. Identity that persists.

Identity is also important for things like marketing. People don't think about this very often, but when you sign up for Coinbase, they can tell whether your institution or retail. If you’re retail, they throw a bunch of incentives and charge you an arm and a leg for every transaction. If you're an institution – they don’t have to pay anything to get on board, but they charge you bips because you're price sensitive. Brokerages make all their money from retail.

In DeFi I can't tell whether you are retail or whether you are Jump [Crypto, the digital asset wing of the eponymous hedge fund]. The protocol treats everyone the same. A centralized exchange’s margin would f**king collapse. Imagine how much money could be made if DeFi businesses could know who their customers are. Nobody can do it today because there's no notion of identity.

We're investing in a company called Quadrantid that allows you to selectively disclose parts of your [know-your-customer] background. So you can selectively disclose your country or other parameters about yourself that you might want to prove to an application or business. This means you could KYC to receive an incentive, but may not have to.

UX

MetaMask, for instance, is not the most user-friendly way to transact. We've already seen some wallets start to do it much better, like Solana’s Phantom – great wallet experience. Keplr – great wallets. We've been able to learn from mistakes, and I think we're gonna see more and more innovation.

Since gaining my MA statistics Cambridge DAMTP 1973 (Corpus Christi College) my special sibject has been community building networks- these are the 6 most exciting collaboration opportunities my life has been privileged to map - the first two evolved as grassroots person to person networks before 1996 in tropical Asian places where village women had no access to electricity grids nor phones- then came mobile and solar entrepreneurial revolutions!!

IF we 8 billion earthlings of the 2020s are to celebrate collaboration escapes from extinction, the knowhow of the billion asian poorest women networks will be invaluable -

in mathematically connected ways so will the stories of diaspora scots and the greatest mathematicians ever home schooled -central european jewish teens who emigrated eg Neumann , Einstein ... to USA 2nd quarter of the 20th century; it is on such diversity that entrepreneurial revolution diaries have been shaped

EconomistPOOR.com : Dad was born in the USSR in 1923 - his dad served in British Embassies. Dad's curiosity enjoyed the opposite of a standard examined education. From 11+ Norman observed results of domination of humans by mad white men - Stalin from being in British Embassy in Moscow to 1936; Hitler in Embassy of last Adriatic port used by Jews to escape Hitler. Then dad spent his last days as a teen in allied bomber command navigating airplanes stationed at modernday Myanmar. Surviving thanks to the Americas dad was in Keynes last class where he was taught that only a handful of system designers control what futures are possible. EconomistScotland.com AbedMooc.com

To help mediate such, question every world eventwith optimistic rationalism, my father's 2000 articles at The Economist interpret all sorts of future spins. After his 15th year he was permitted one signed survey a year. In the mid 1950s he had met John Von Neumann whom he become biographer to , and was the only journalist at Messina's's birth of EU. == If you only have time for one download this one page tour of COLLABorations composed by Fazle Abed and networked by billion poorest village women offers clues to sustainability from the ground up like no white ruler has ever felt or morally audited. by London Scot James Wilson. Could Queen Victoria change empire fro slavemaking to commonwealth? Some say Victoria liked the challenge James set her, others that she gave him a poison pill assignment. Thus James arrived in Calcutta 1860 with the Queens permission to charter a bank by and for Indian people. Within 9 months he died of diarrhea. 75 years later Calcutta was where the Young Fazle Abed grew up - his family accounted for some of the biggest traders. Only to be partitioned back at age 11 to his family's home region in the far north east of what had been British Raj India but was now to be ruled by Pakistan for 25 years. Age 18 Abed made the trek to Glasgow University to study naval engineering.

1943 marked centenary autobio of The Economist and my teenage dad Norman prepping to be navigator allied bomber command Burma Campaign -thanks to US dad survived, finished in last class of Keynes. before starting 5 decades at The Economist; after 15 years he was allowed to sign one survey a year starting in 1962 with the scoop that Japan (Korea S, Taiwan soon hk singapore) had found development mp0de;s for all Asian to rise. Rural Keynes could end village poverty & starvation; supercity win-win trades could celebrate Neumanns gift of 100 times more tech per decade (see macrae bio of von neumann)

Since 1960 the legacy of von neumann means ever decade multiplies 100 times more micro-technology- an unprecedented time for better or worse of all earthdwellers; 2025 timelined and mapped innovation exponentials - education, health, go green etc - (opportunities threats) to celebrating sustainability generation by 2025; dad parted from earth 2010; since then 2 journals by adam smith scholars out of Glasgow where engines began in 1760- Social Business; New Economics have invited academic worlds and young graduates to question where the human race is going - after 30 business trips to wealthier parts of Asia, through 2010s I have mainly sherpa's young journalist to Bangladesh - we are filing 50 years of cases on women empowerment at these web sites AbedMOOC.com FazleAbed.com EconomistPoor.com EconomistUN.com WorldRecordjobs.com Economistwomen.com Economistyouth.com EconomistDiary.com UNsummitfuture.com - in my view how a billion asian women linked together to end extreme poverty across continental asia is the greatest and happiest miracle anyone can take notes on - please note the rest of this column does not reflect my current maps of how or where the younger half of the world need to linkin to be the first sdg generation......its more like an old scrap book

how do humans design futures?-in the 2020s decade of the sdgs – this question has never had more urgency. to be or not to be/ – ref to lessons of deming or keynes, or glasgow university alumni smith and 200 years of hi-trust economics mapmaking later fazle abed - we now know how-a man made system is defined by one goal uniting generations- a system multiplies connected peoples work and demands either accelerating progress to its goal or collapsing - sir fazle abed died dec 2020 - so who are his most active scholars climate adaptability where cop26 november will be a great chance to renuite with 260 years of adam smith and james watts purposes t end poverty-specifically we interpret sdg 1 as meaning next girl or boy born has fair chance at free happy an productive life as we seek to make any community a child is born into a thriving space to grow up between discover of new worlds in 1500 and 1945 systems got worse and worse on the goal eg processes like slavery emerged- and ultimately the world was designed around a handful of big empires and often only the most powerful men in those empires. 4 amazing human-tech systems were invented to start massive use by 1960 borlaug agriculture and related solutions every poorest village (2/3people still had no access to electricity) could action learn person to person- deming engineering whose goal was zero defects by helping workers humanize machines- this could even allowed thousands of small suppliers to be best at one part in machines assembled from all those parts) – although americans invented these solution asia most needed them and joyfully became world class at them- up to 2 billion people were helped to end poverty through sharing this knowhow- unlike consuming up things actionable knowhow multiplies value in use when it links through every community that needs it the other two technologies space and media and satellite telecoms, and digital analytic power looked promising- by 1965 alumni of moore promised to multiply 100 fold efficiency of these core tech each decade to 2030- that would be a trillion tmes moore than was needed to land on the moon in 1960s. you might think this tech could improve race to end poverty- and initially it did but by 1990 it was designed around the long term goal of making 10 men richer than 40% poorest- these men also got involved in complex vested interests so that the vast majority of politicians in brussels and dc backed the big get bigger - often they used fake media to hide what they were doing to climate and other stuff that a world trebling in population size d\ - we the 3 generations children parents grandparents have until 2030 to design new system orbits gravitated around goal 1 and navigating the un's other 17 goals do you want to help/ 8 cities we spend most time helping students exchange sustainability solutions 2018-2019 BR0 Beijing Hangzhou:
