Subject: The new section of The 2025 Report is fascinating: confidential:

I am currently working through

“The TC and Education” Chapter eight.

I won’t pass on all my own comments and suggestions at the moment, but . . .

1:  When we moved from New Zealand’s main city of Auckland (population 1.5 million) to the tiny seaside city of Tauranga (then 120,000 people; now 140,000) , four years ago, my wife and I took with us my personalized library of 12,000 different books.  (Many from my 10 years as a radio and television talkshow host often interviewing book authors).  Those extra 40,000 people mainly live in retirement homes: the basis for a new industry (including early childhood industry):

2:   I have been working since then on several books on Innovation, including the history of innovation and its associated Aha Game, which I have used in one-day and three-day seminars around the world (the first seminar series, in the UK, was funded by Gordon Brown, when Chancellor, when hr introduced “Business Innovation and business creativity” as a new optional high school course in 2005 (see then handout game first used in those seminars: now using all my present reading for “2020 vision” (Wow, How, NOW”) video-book industry, including “video tutorials)/

·         Apple, including Apple II, from 1996 when it (for the first time) lost $1 billion.
·         Apple under Steve Jobs leadership in creative industries (learned during his work at Pixar under CEO  Ed Catmull, summarized in Catmull’s book, CREATIVITY, INC, subtitled “Overcoming the unseen forces that stand in way of true inspiration”.
·         From 1997, Steve Jobs II (as new CEO of Apple) during the period 1997 to 2011  reinvented six entirely new industries: music with the iPod  and iTunes), (1000 tunes and songs in your pocket with your own personalized radio music station (all different), the iPhone (misnamed: it’s really a multimedia computer in  your pocket with its own digital camera back and front; digital cam-recorder back and front (stored in a Japanese tiny storage system with 2 million transistors in its version six; the ability to store, send and receive emails but also receive and send phonecalls; the Ipad (multimedia production system); iMovie (used in New Zealand brilliantly starting the first day n school= at age six; animation (I can animate:, from the second day at school); Garage Band (composing music, second month at school); plus (with Pixar’s John Lasseter) reinventing the movie industry and selling Pixar to Disney, with Catmull and Lasseter  charge of both companies’ animation departments, and Jobs as the new main stockholder for $7.4 billion in Pixar shares).  And Apple as the world’s newest and richest country in world
·         Google’s 70,000 smart-creatives, and its new model for a different style of management and innovation.
·         Alibaba (at least 12 books) and Edward Tse’s book “China’s disruptors” (at least 15 main ones).
·         Sony fights back over Apple.
·         Peter Jackson (a friend of mine) and his wife: “Lord of the Rings” books equal 20th-century literacy; now wins 11 Academy Awards in a night, model for 21st-centurymultimedia literacy.  More Oscars in second and third of trio of LORings movies.  New Zealand sets up world’s th ird movie capital after Hollywood and Mumbai’s BolyWoos.
·         New /Zealand brings Hollywood moviemaking specialist Robert McKee to New Zealand as world’s main movie story-telling expert (author of STORY: substance,  style and the principles of screenwriting”.  Peter Jackson and screen-writing wife Fran Walsh (also a friend of mine: Tom Walsh, my oldest friend, 11 years older than me: I delivered the eulogy at his funeral.
·         Google’s Chrome now owns world’s biggest and most-used browser: 3.5 billion searches a day: 100 times better than Wikipedia: Ask. I each case, for “The ten best article on any subject)
·         Google News: 70 different daily online news programs/video and clips from best newspapers and magazines in the world.
·         I have an entire library showing the world’s best schools.
·         Google now provides world’s best books on model education systems.
·         To add to your 2025 Report’s chapter eight  . . . link world’s  best chess master (Kasparov’s guide to chess – from beginner ‘level 1’ to world master (level 10) as the guide to any subject; and play at that level against with the world champion as your guide.  All new world champions are aged 8 to 15.
·         Exactly the same, with Omar Sharif’s Guide to playng contract Bridge, at every level from 1 (beginner) to world champion (level 10),
·         Android tried to sell its system for equivalent to iPad to Samsung; but was knocked back, so sold it three days later to Google: now model for 184 model manufacturers- each with Android free oen operating system as a guide.
·         Thousands of retired Auckland citizens now selling up their expensive homes in Auckland to for the basis of retirement-home industries in my new city.
·         I know Singapore city well and Cabinet ministers: “Plato’s Republic for 21st century” – now model for China. , I first toured Japan, Hong kong, Singapore, KL and Bangkok in 1964 after reading your dad’s first book on Japan. My first month was in Japan where, in my last week there I managed to buy, for $1, the English-language translation of the 1962 MITI economic plan with all the detail of what JAPAN needed to do to match VW as world leading small car center.
·         All books on Toyota and Honda putting that plan into action.
·         My “3 S’s” models: Singapore, Silicon valley (named in 1971), Shanghai, Shenzhen, Sydney.
·         Other model schools and education systems: dozens of books.
·         Alec Cross’s 2016 book, “The Industries of the Future”: Chapter 2 one of four best: “The future of the human machine”, led by America and China.  First opening quote: The last trillion-dollar industry was built on the code of 1’s and 0’s.  The next will be built on our own genetic code.    You must read this book and this chapter.
·         I attended my first three-day Silicon valley seminar in January 1979 (after visiting silicon valley in 1984; the same year I read your  Dad’s Japanese book).  After three days of making intersperses contributions, I was crowned “the Maori king of silicon valley”.  This was one month after Steve Jobs first two visits to Xerox PARC (Palo alto research centre) where he first saw the real future of Alan Kay’s personal computer which he then turned into Apple Macintosh (in 1984) and Gates turned into Windows.
·         Michael A. Hltzik and his book, DEALERS OF LIGHTNING (XEROX PARC and the dawn of the computer age” (1999) is the best book on this subject.
·         Dr Seuss (an old friend of mine), pioneer of 600 million “Beginner Books” sold to encourage reading fluent English (now out as series of US digital books: potential for 160 million – from birth to age 10: based on 16 million born every year in China).  I am also doing a separate book on how to use that series of digital books for Gordon Dryden’s Early English.

My new innovation books wi be based around VIDEO BOOKS, based on:

2020 VISION (but could be 2025 or higher):

Three leaps to turn your own talent and passion into the new creative age:
Wow.  How.   Now.

The three leapa  to use your specific talent and passion to invent everything:

1.       WOW.  The big idea.
2.       HOW.   Three models to invent it (shown with video graphics).
3.       NOW:   How to leap from where you are to now to Wow! (video tutorials).

Many of these models including education touched on in your2025 report.  But it needs to include video-tutorial book.

I interrupted chapter 8 of your 2025 report to jot these notes down.  Now 4.14 a.m. in New Zealand

Since gaining my MA statistics Cambridge DAMTP 1973 (Corpus Christi College) my special sibject has been community building networks- these are the 6 most exciting collaboration opportunities my life has been privileged to map - the first two evolved as grassroots person to person networks before 1996 in tropical Asian places where village women had no access to electricity grids nor phones- then came mobile and solar entrepreneurial revolutions!!

EconomistPOOR.com : Dad was born in the USSR in 1923 - his dad served in British Embassies. Dad's curiosity enjoyed the opposite of a standard examined education. From 11+ Norman observed results of domination of humans by mad white men - Stalin from being in British Embassy in Moscow to 1936; Hitler in Embassy of last Adriatic port used by Jews to escape Hitler. Then dad spent his last days as a teen in allied bomber command navigating airplanes stationed at modernday Myanmar. Surviving thanks to the Americas dad was in Keynes last class where he was taught that only a handful of system designers control what futures are possible. EconomistScotland.com AbedMooc.com

To help mediate such, question every world eventwith optimistic rationalism, my father's 2000 articles at The Economist interpret all sorts of future spins. After his 15th year he was permitted one signed survey a year. In the mid 1950s he had met John Von Neumann whom he become biographer to , and was the only journalist at Messina's's birth of EU. == If you only have time for one download this one page tour of COLLABorations composed by Fazle Abed and networked by billion poorest village women offers clues to sustainability from the ground up like no white ruler has ever felt or morally audited. by London Scot James Wilson. Could Queen Victoria change empire fro slavemaking to commonwealth? Some say Victoria liked the challenge James set her, others that she gave him a poison pill assignment. Thus James arrived in Calcutta 1860 with the Queens permission to charter a bank by and for Indian people. Within 9 months he died of diarrhea. 75 years later Calcutta was where the Young Fazle Abed grew up - his family accounted for some of the biggest traders. Only to be partitioned back at age 11 to his family's home region in the far north east of what had been British Raj India but was now to be ruled by Pakistan for 25 years. Age 18 Abed made the trek to Glasgow University to study naval engineering.

new york

1943 marked centenary autobio of The Economist and my teenage dad Norman prepping to be navigator allied bomber command Burma Campaign -thanks to US dad survived, finished in last class of Keynes. before starting 5 decades at The Economist; after 15 years he was allowed to sign one survey a year starting in 1962 with the scoop that Japan (Korea S, Taiwan soon hk singapore) had found development mp0de;s for all Asian to rise. Rural Keynes could end village poverty & starvation; supercity win-win trades could celebrate Neumanns gift of 100 times more tech per decade (see macrae bio of von neumann)

Since 1960 the legacy of von neumann means ever decade multiplies 100 times more micro-technology- an unprecedented time for better or worse of all earthdwellers; 2025 timelined and mapped innovation exponentials - education, health, go green etc - (opportunities threats) to celebrating sustainability generation by 2025; dad parted from earth 2010; since then 2 journals by adam smith scholars out of Glasgow where engines began in 1760- Social Business; New Economics have invited academic worlds and young graduates to question where the human race is going - after 30 business trips to wealthier parts of Asia, through 2010s I have mainly sherpa's young journalist to Bangladesh - we are filing 50 years of cases on women empowerment at these web sites AbedMOOC.com FazleAbed.com EconomistPoor.com EconomistUN.com WorldRecordjobs.com Economistwomen.com Economistyouth.com EconomistDiary.com UNsummitfuture.com - in my view how a billion asian women linked together to end extreme poverty across continental asia is the greatest and happiest miracle anyone can take notes on - please note the rest of this column does not reflect my current maps of how or where the younger half of the world need to linkin to be the first sdg generation......its more like an old scrap book

how do humans design futures?-in the 2020s decade of the sdgs – this question has never had more urgency. to be or not to be/ – ref to lessons of deming or keynes, or glasgow university alumni smith and 200 years of hi-trust economics mapmaking later fazle abed - we now know how-a man made system is defined by one goal uniting generations- a system multiplies connected peoples work and demands either accelerating progress to its goal or collapsing - sir fazle abed died dec 2020 - so who are his most active scholars climate adaptability where cop26 november will be a great chance to renuite with 260 years of adam smith and james watts purposes t end poverty-specifically we interpret sdg 1 as meaning next girl or boy born has fair chance at free happy an productive life as we seek to make any community a child is born into a thriving space to grow up between discover of new worlds in 1500 and 1945 systems got worse and worse on the goal eg processes like slavery emerged- and ultimately the world was designed around a handful of big empires and often only the most powerful men in those empires. 4 amazing human-tech systems were invented to start massive use by 1960 borlaug agriculture and related solutions every poorest village (2/3people still had no access to electricity) could action learn person to person- deming engineering whose goal was zero defects by helping workers humanize machines- this could even allowed thousands of small suppliers to be best at one part in machines assembled from all those parts) – although americans invented these solution asia most needed them and joyfully became world class at them- up to 2 billion people were helped to end poverty through sharing this knowhow- unlike consuming up things actionable knowhow multiplies value in use when it links through every community that needs it the other two technologies space and media and satellite telecoms, and digital analytic power looked promising- by 1965 alumni of moore promised to multiply 100 fold efficiency of these core tech each decade to 2030- that would be a trillion tmes moore than was needed to land on the moon in 1960s. you might think this tech could improve race to end poverty- and initially it did but by 1990 it was designed around the long term goal of making 10 men richer than 40% poorest- these men also got involved in complex vested interests so that the vast majority of politicians in brussels and dc backed the big get bigger - often they used fake media to hide what they were doing to climate and other stuff that a world trebling in population size d\ - we the 3 generations children parents grandparents have until 2030 to design new system orbits gravitated around goal 1 and navigating the un's other 17 goals do you want to help/ 8 cities we spend most time helping students exchange sustainability solutions 2018-2019 BR0 Beijing Hangzhou:
